We Advertise Project DAWN... but Do You Know Why?
While some may know what Naloxone or Narcan is, others do not know what it can be used for.
This short video made by our Prescription Drug Overdose Coordinator explains how Naloxone works in our brain.
We want to remind everyone that Naloxone can be used for any opioid overdose, that includes accidental by taking too much or the wrong medication, as well as using prescribed medications as instructed can still experience an overdose.
The Health Department would like to remind everyone that if you have an opioid medication you should consider attending a Project DAWN training and receive a Naloxone kit.
